Dr. Luzader

Dr. Luzader

Dr. Luzader attended West Liberty University in West Virginia for three years prior to early admittance into West Virginia University Dental School, where he earned his dental degree in 1983. After joining the United States Army, he practiced for nine years as a general dentist. Dr. Luzader received his advanced training in endodontics through the United States Army Advanced Education Program at Fort Gordon, Georgia, with academics at the Medical College of Georgia.

Dr. Luzader retired from the Army after 20 years of service. During his time as an endodontist with the United States Army, Dr. Luzader served as the Chief of Endodontics at Fort Bliss in Texas, Heidelberg Hospital in Germany, and Fort Meade in Maryland. He was the officer-in-charge of infection control at these posts and served as the consultant for infection control for the Army Dental Corp in Europe.

While at Fort Meade, Dr. Luzader was the endodontic mentor for the Advanced Education in General Dentistry training program. He was certified by the American Board of Endodontics in 1997 and maintains diplomate status with the board, which is the highest level of certification possible within the endodontic specialty. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Endodontists, American Board of Endodontics, Maryland State Dental Association, Anne Arundel County Dental Society, and the Christian Medical and Dental Association.

Dr. Luzader is a continual learner and has averaged over 50 hours of continuing education every year for the last 25 years. He enjoys playing most sports, especially basketball, tennis, mountain biking, and autocross. Dr. Luzader and his wife, Ann, have two daughters, both graduates of the Annapolis Area Christian School. Brittany went on to get a dual degree from Pepperdine University and served as a missionary in Managua, Nicaragua for six years. She is married to Michael and living in Annapolis with their 2 children Edmund and Leopold.. Lindsay went on to graduate from MUD Make-up Designory School in New York City. She is married to Nicholas, and currently resides in Malibu, California with her two children Millicent and Malachi. 

 Dr. Parreira

Dr. Parreira

Dr. Frank Parreira spent his formative years bouncing around the globe as an “Army brat,” finally settling in Annapolis, Maryland. He earned his bachelor’s degree from The Johns Hopkins University in 1980. After a brief stint in the Minnesota Twins farm system, he completed his DDS degree from the University of Maryland School of Dental Surgery in 1984. Frank entered the Navy’s 1925I dental student program during his junior year at the University of Maryland.

Dr. Parreira practiced as a Navy general dentist for seven years prior to being accepted to the Naval postgraduate program at Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Parreira graduated from Bethesda with a certificate in Endodontics in 1993. In 1996 he successfully challenged the board and received Board Certification in Endodontics. Dr. Parreira has served in numerous assignments in the Navy, including the Philippines, Dental Assignments Officer at Naval Personnel Command, and Executive Officer for the Gulf Coast Region. Dr. Parreira’s final duty station was as the Dental Clinic Director at the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland. Dr. Parreira received numerous awards and recognitions during his illustrious 22-year Naval career, including the Commanding Officer’s award for clinical excellence and the Commanding Officer’s award for “Outstanding Mentor.”

During his Naval career, Dr. Parreira served in numerous capacities that have enhanced his private practice experience. He has served as the Command Infection Control Officer on two different tours and was directly responsible for all patient relations issues for over 10 years of his career. He continues to be committed to continuing education, averaging over 50 hours a year as well as annually attending the national conference for endodontists. Dr. Parreira is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Endodontists, American Board of Endodontics, Maryland State Dental Association, Anne Arundel County Dental Society, and the Christian Medical and Dental Association.

Prior to retiring from the Navy, Dr. Parreira started “moonlighting” with Dr. Luzader at the Chesapeake Endodontic Center. He was so impressed with the practices’ focus on compassionate care and the way the staff treated all of the patients as family that he became a full-time partner in 2008.

Personally, Dr. Parreira enjoys all sports, particularly the ones he can play with his grandchildren. He is married to his high-school sweetheart, the former Cheryl Fry, and has three children: Kristin, a Marine Corps wife married to Patrick (USNA 2011), Jimmy (USNA 2011), an American Airlines pilot and reserve F-18 pilot currently stationed in Oceana, VA and Brian, a USC Aiken graduate and currently employed by the Baltimore Orioles. Frank and Cheryl have 5 precious grandchildren, Camden, Charley, Hattie and Jordan and Miller.

Dr. Willens

Dr. Willens

Dr. Joshua Willens grew up in Mesa, Arizona, where he developed a love for science, service, and teamwork at a young age. His path led him to the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he earned his degree in Chemistry in 2007.

After graduation, Dr. Willens proudly served seven years as a U.S. Army communications officer. His military career took him around the world, with primary assignments in Alaska, Germany, Oklahoma, and Georgia with deployments to Afghanistan and Kuwait. These experiences instilled in him a deep commitment to service, leadership, and integrity—qualities he carries into his dental career today.

Eager to combine his passion for helping others with his interest in science, Dr. Willens pursued dentistry at Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Glendale, AZ, earning his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry. He returned to the Army to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Fort Carson, Colorado, and later pursued advanced specialty training in endodontics through the U.S. Army’s Advanced Education Program at Fort Gordon, Georgia. In 2023, he achieved the distinction of becoming a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontists.

Before joining the team at Chesapeake Endodontic Center, Dr. Willens served at Fort Meade, Maryland, where he was the Chief Endodontist and Officer in Charge of the multispecialty dental clinic. He continues to give back to military dentistry by volunteering as a mentor for the Naval Postgraduate Dental School Endodontic Residency at Walter Reed. He is also an active member of the American Association of Endodontists and the Triple Crown Study Club, reflecting his commitment to lifelong learning and collaboration with colleagues in his field.

As an endodontist, Dr. Willens brings his technical expertise, military discipline, and passion for service together to provide compassionate, patient-centered care. He strives to make every patient feel comfortable, informed, and confident throughout their treatment.

Away from the office, Dr. Willens enjoys life with his wife, Brittany—his high school sweetheart—and their three daughters, Elliana, Shelby, and Millie. Together, they love sailing, traveling, and spending time outdoors. He also enjoys giving back to his community as a youth soccer referee.

Kari

Kari

Kari has been working at Chesapeake Endodontics for 16 years and came with a wealth of clinical and administrative experience, and has been in the dental field for almost 30 years. She is eager, bright and has boundless energy. She also has expertise on the insurance side of the business and she works countless hours for the patient to answer any of their insurance, financial, and clinical questions prior to their being treated. Kari resides in Pasadena, Maryland with her husband Mike and their son Michael. Michael is currently a student at Archbishop Curley Highschool.
